ABOUT THE NIGHT BEFORE
For fourteen years, three best friends - Ethan (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Isaac (Seth Rogen), and Chris (Anthony Mackie) - have gathered on Christmas Eve for a night of debauchery and celebration. The tradition began after Ethan lost his parents in a car accident, and his friends wanted to ensure he never felt alone during the holidays.
As the friends enter adulthood with new responsibilities - Isaac is about to become a father and Chris is a famous football player - they decide their tradition must come to an end. For their final night together, they set out to find the Nutcracka Ball, a legendary and elusive Christmas party in New York City that they have been trying to locate for years.
The film explores themes of friendship, growing up, and how relationships evolve over time. Through a night filled with drug-fueled escapades, Christmas traditions, and unexpected encounters, the three friends navigate personal challenges while trying to make their last Christmas Eve together unforgettable.
Directed by Jonathan Levine, who had previously worked with Gordon-Levitt and Rogen on the film "50/50, The Night Before combines raunchy humor with genuine emotional moments, creating a unique adult-oriented Christmas film that stands apart from typical holiday fare.
